We seek to build strong relationships with the Australian literary and publishing community, partnering with local bookstores and authors for events when we can, and community organisations to co-publish books that contribute to public knowledge and discussion.

Our Team

2025 SEMESTER 2

PRODUCTION & DESIGN TEAM

Chayin Tengkanokkul | Designer

Sometimes I write. Sometimes I draw. Most times I procrastinate. Catch me ‘looking for inspiration’ in record stores and book shops of the Melburnian inner north.

Hannah Bates Schilling | Production Editor & Typesetter

I am just like other girls. I love Taylor Swift, Pilates, brunch and, of course, a good book. At the end of a long (or short) day, I love nothing more than to light a candle, pour a glass and snuggle up under a big blanket with a good book.

Isabelle Hoffer | Production Editor & Typesetter

I’m a typical bookish night owl, up at 4am trying to cram in one last chapter or frantically scribbling down spec-fic plots. As an avid traveller and a former history student, the stories I love the most transport me to another time or another world, and The Sword of Kaigen by M. L. Wang is my absolute favourite novel.

EDITORIAL TEAM

Daria Vasina | Editor

I swapped reviewing Tolstoy and Shakespeare as a philology grad for reviewing debut authors and their unpublished books as an editor-in-training. My Kindle case says, ‘Life is better with cats and books,’ which I believe is totally clichéd but also totally true.

Will Lawler | Editor

I am currently completing my Masters of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing from The University of Melbourne. When I’m not reading or bookbinding, you can find me cohosting the comedy film and TV podcast, In the Fleapit. I also have a knack for being able to spot the culprit in any Agatha Christie novel.

Ash Worthington | Copyeditor & Proofreader

I’m an avid book collector (and reader), a sucker for good cover design, a grammar nerd, and an Oxford comma apologist. I love to read about women’s rights and wrongs, and believe a good book is best enjoyed in bed or on a long tram journey.

COMMISSIONING TEAM

Neera Kadkol | Commissioning Editor

Ancient and medieval history nerd, diverse fantasy and science fiction advocate and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey stan. Year 7 me who always got editor in career quizzes would be thrilled that I left academia to go into publishing. My all-time favourite books are A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine and The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri.

Thomas Fletcher | Commissioning Editor

When I was little, I would borderline refuse to read anything that wasn’t about dinosaurs. It got so bad that the school librarian sent a letter home in a desperate attempt to push me towards creative fiction. I think it worked.

BLOGS & WEBSITE TEAM

Morgen Rose Mackay | Website Producer

My spare time is spent with my sleeves rolled up, working in my family’s vineyard. But the best paring, in my opinion, is a good book and a cup of tea.

Allie Akerley | Publishing Blog Editor

Terrible writer, better editor and prolific cultural critic (in my own mind and notes app). I love starting creative projects, Nissin Hokkaido ramen and diving down internet rabbit holes. I dislike finishing creative projects, raw tomatoes and how fast time passes.

Bridget Collier | MZ Blog Editor

As an emerging editor and sometimes writer, I have a particular interest in amplifying distinct and quietly powerful voices and stories that are often left unheard. I gravitate toward literary fiction and creative non-fiction that challenges perspectives and invites deeper reflection. When I’m not buried in a book you’ll likely find me on a hike somewhere, enjoying the outdoors.

Rosie Graham | Book Review Editor

When I don’t have my nose in a good book, I’m either adding to my collection of ceramic cats or tending to my Animal Crossing village on my 3DS.

SALES & MARKETING & Publicity TEAM

Anna Frankpit | Events and Publicity Manager

Whether it’s reading, writing or editing I am passionate about all things words. I am thrilled to be a part of the process that makes people just as passionate as myself.

Erin O’Connor | Marketing Producer and Content Creator

A professional at ignoring my TBR pile and buying books that I don’t have room for. I adore all things classics, poetry and romance, and love helping other bookworms find their perfect book.

Angelitha Jayaraj | Marketing Producer and Content Creator

My love for science fiction is only rivalled by my enthusiasm for good tea. You can find me attempting to make a dent in my ever-growing TBR list or trying to convince people to let me join their trivia team.

Varada Nair | Marketing Producer and Content Creator

I decided to wrap up my 5 year long career in teaching and marketing to focus on my true passion, books! I love reading fiction and sci-fi books. I’m currently pursuing my Masters in Publishing and Communications, after which I aspire to be an editor. A cat mum, I’m currently obsessed with chrysanthemums and anything related to the colour purple.
