Grattan Street Press is a small trade publisher based in Melbourne. Our mission is to publish a range of work, including contemporary literature, trade non-fiction, and children’s books, and to re-publish culturally valuable works that are out of print.
In 2017, we released our first books, kicking off with the Colonial Australian Popular Fiction series. In 2018, our list has grown to include Emma Jones’s Something to Be Tiptoed Around. Later this year, in collaboration with the editors of Inside Story magazine, we will publish a collection of writing from insidestory.org.
GSP is an initiative of the Publishing and Communications program in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, and is staffed by graduate students, who receive hands-on experience of every aspect of the publication process.
It is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to build long-term relationships within the Australian literary and publishing community. We also partner with community organisations in Melbourne and beyond to co-publish books that contribute to public knowledge and discussion.
